I’m still writing up my thoughts on Personal Connection and classical music, but in the meantime, I noticed that concerts in private homes have been getting more airplay nowadays.
This has been becoming a thing in America thanks to the amazing work that Groupmuse has been doing, but it seems to be spreading to other genres as well. (As this short BBC video shows.)
I’m a former marketer / arts administrator in the Australian classical music scene, and was privileged to work for three of the major classical music companies.
My background was in mathematics and statistics, with classical music just being something I enjoyed as a hobby. But after a few years in the private sector, I realised that I loved classical music a lot more than that, and made the jump into working for the classical music industry itself. It was one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. The burning passion that first drove me to enter this industry many years ago, is to answer one question: how can we make more people like classical music?
